Florida’s Space Coast welcomes visitors year-round who travel from across the globe to witness the thrill of a rocket launch. Despite having a ready-made audience, high-traffic domain name and an exciting activity to promote, Space Coast Tourism wasn’t taking advantage of any of these opportunities, and was lacking a central hub for visitors to access rocket launch information. Unsure how to optimize their web presence specifically for rocket launches, Space Coast Tourism turned to 321 to build an interactive, informative site to help visitors better plan their next rocket launch experience.
321 sought to create a centralized hub for visitors to access launch information, through an interactive, informative site that would allow visitors to plan their next rocket launch experience.
We developed a live countdown timer to serve as the primary focus for the page, while offering visitors additional content to help plan their next visit, including viewing locations, rocket details and blog posts.
321 wanted to create a thematic experience that encompassed one of most dramatic events on Earth. We did this by ensuring the design, interactions and content were solely focused on creating an immersive and unforgettable experience for the user. Combining bold imagery, with a high-tech UI feel, we created an engrossing sensation of depth so users felt as if they were exploring the universe.
321 wanted to create a brand that equally represented the Space Program and the Space Coast. Our goal to create something singularly definitive required combining an otherworldly feel, with subtle elements that fit thematically and represented the Space Coast.
Each of the orbiting stars represents the four cities that make up the Space Coast
This organic shape acts as both the shuttles launch path and a wave tying in both space and the coast
The launch object represents both a rocket and a surfboard
Our team’s goal was to provide comprehensive details about upcoming Space Coast Launches, so we developed a live countdown timer to serve as the primary focus for the page, while offering visitors additional content to help plan their next visit, including viewing locations, rocket details and blog posts.
In order to create a mobile-friendly version of Space Coast Launches, we developed a dynamic, stripped-down interface that would display beautifully on any device, while maintaining the immersive experience we created for the web.
Giving the opportunity to create an app that encircled all of the functionality of the Launches site and more, 321 wanted to design an app that put the experience in the hands of users everywhere.
321 created compass feature that allows users to locate the launch’s exact spot on the horizon. With the compass feature, you can be pointed in the direction of Cape Canaveral.
We created a full-page ad to run in local Brevard County publications, which promoted the launch of the new Launch Console app and detailed the features and benefits.
